PNG women urged to work together

Women leaders in Papua New Guinea are being urged to work together in implementing the National Policy for Women and Gender Equality 2011-2015 plan. Secretary for the Department of Community Development Joseph Klapat made the call following recent media statements made by women leaders over the policy. The women leaders from Milne Bay, East Sepik and Madang claimed the policy was the sole work the department and does not reflect the views of women around the country. Klapat said women leaders must leave their differences aside and assist the government in realising the full participation of women in all levels of society through the policy.
